Travel Plans for the Rest of 2022

I didn’t have much going on in the first half of 2022, mostly because I spent most of my spare money on a small but essential  house renovation. At the time of writing this, the new porch is almost complete, and we’re about to make our final payment to the builder and electrician. It feels very freeing! So in order to take full advantage of the excitement, I started planning a couple of holidays and wanted to share my travel plans with you.

Wales, United Kingdom – July 2022

Admittedly, I haven’t actually booked this trip to Wales yet but I have carved out some space for it in my diary so it’s basically a sure thing. Quill and I went to Wales for the first time last year, and we fell in love. We stayed in Betws-y-Coed, which was the perfect spot for all the walking we wanted to do around Snowdonia National Park.

I’m not sure where we’re going to be staying this time around, but I’m thinking it’ll be slightly further south so we can visit different places. That said, if I manage to find the perfect accomodation in Snowdonia I’m not against staying there again!

Have you been to Wales before? Where would you recommend we visit?

Morocco – September 2022

Again, I haven’t actually booked this trip yet because of the current crisis that the UK travel industry seems to be going through, but it’s something I’m going to be looking into in the next month or so. I really wanted to go somewhere warm this summer, and I remembered that one of my friends highly recommended Morocco to me a couple of years ago.

I’m still considering whether I want to stay in Marrakesh, or if it would be better to stay in Agadir. I’m quite torn as to whether this should be a beach/pool holiday, a tourist-y holiday, or a bit of both!

Iceland – November 2022

Okay so I have actually booked this trip! I can’t remember why I suddenly got an urge to go to Iceland. I was probably watching some travel vlogs a few months ago and it caught my eye.

Quill and I are planning to spend a week or so travelling the south coast by car. Along the way we’ll be doing lots of hiking (our favourite thing!) and visiting lots of natural hot springs. I struggle to single out any particular spots I’m most excited for, but I must mention the Iceberg Lagoon, Thingvellir National Park, and Skaftafell!

After we return from the south coast we’ll be staying in Reykjavik for a few days to relax before heading back to the UK. To say I’m hyped would be an understatement!

I’m planning on vlogging – or at least blogging – all of these trips so I can keep a record of them and remember how they went in the years to come. My main goal for this blog is for it to be a personal travel diary that I can look back on, however I’m hoping to also write up some recommendations posts in order to help anyone who plans to travel to the same places that I do. If you have any recommendations or requests for me, drop them in the comments below!

Where are you planning on travelling this year?

    Hi Amber,
Sorry to have not seen you, in August, when we visited the UK. I was surrounded by your books, as usual, while staying with Dad. I actually read one.
After returning to Germany I thought of your old blog, Books of Amber, which transported me to here.
Happy that you have started up again after a slump. I’m sure I’ll get some picks for my book club when it’s my turn to choose. Looking forward to reading about your travel adventures as well.
    Sarah
    xx
